Job Description
Overview Winona Freight Collective (Two Fathoms Brewing, The Old Tiger, Cafe Zorya) is looking for a AM/PM Sous Chef(s)/Kitchen Manager(s) to join the team as we expand our existing brewery into a brewpub, restaurant, and cafe!. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead with energy, inspire creativity, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality and food service. We are looking for a professional Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to help execute our Executive Chef's specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the guest experience. Responsibilities Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality food production Manage inventory control, monitor stock levels, order supplies, and oversee food handling to minimize waste and optimize costs Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to foster a motivated and cohesive team environment Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards Coordinate shift management, including scheduling staff rotations and managing labor costs effectively Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards Fill in for the Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine in planning and directing food preparation when necessary Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Requirements Supervisory experience with team management and training capabilities Knowledge of dietary department procedures, inventory management, and food safety protocols Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently Strong communication skills to lead a diverse team and collaborate effectively across departments Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Excellent record of kitchen and staff management Familiar with industry's best practices Evening and Weekend Availability Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) Familiarity with banquet experience, event catering, and large-scale food handling (preferred but not required) 2+ years of experience in kitchen management (preferred but not required) We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
