Bar Manager 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Asheville, NC 28801 From $50,000 a year - Full-time Hemingway's Cuba 15 reviews From $50,000 a year - Full-time The Bar Manager for Hemingway's Cuba will direct and oversee all bar operations, including supervising staff, ensuring product and service standards are met, and implementing procedures for maximum operating efficiency. The key duties of the Bar Manager are bar supervision, productivity, inventory control, and related administrative duties. Assist the Service Manager in hiring and training staff. Oversee the restaurant's dining and food operations to maintain Hemingway's Cuba's high standards for food and beverage.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage bar operations during scheduled shifts that include prompt decision making, staff support, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness. Prepare staff schedules and ensure bar is properly staffed and executed. Perform liquor, wine, and beer check to ensure proper invoicing. Inspect storage areas for organization, and cleanliness. Complete scheduled inventories and stock and requisition necessary supplies. Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well being of guests. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; and serve as a role model. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; and identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
Requirements:
At least two to four years experience in a F&B supervisory role, preferably fine dining. Strong leadership qualities. Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment. Must possess a general knowledge of food and beverage procedures, and administration. Understanding and ability to perform all catering roles as needed. Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs and working on feet for at least 8 hours.
