Burntshirt Vineyards - The Vintner's Table Hendersonville, NC Burntshirt Vineyards is seeking a passionate, experienced Head Chef to lead the culinary vision at The Vintner's Table, our on-site restaurant and event venue in the heart of Hendersonville. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who values seasonal ingredients, thoughtful menus, and creating memorable guest experiences in a vineyard setting from elevated dining service to weddings, banquets, winery events, and private gatherings. About Us Burntshirt Vineyards is a winery rooted in craftsmanship, community, and elevated hospitality. The Vintner's Table pairs our wines with inspired food that highlights local flavors and simple, well-executed cuisine. In addition to restaurant service, Burntshirt hosts a growing number of private events, wine dinners, banquets, and celebrations throughout the year. Position Overview The Head Chef will oversee all culinary operations for both The Vintner's Table restaurant and Burntshirt's banquet and event operations. This role requires creativity, leadership, organization, and the ability to execute high-quality dining experiences across multiple service styles, sometimes simultaneously. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands how to balance restaurant operations with large-scale events and special functions. Responsibilities Develop and execute seasonal restaurant menus that complement Burntshirt wines Create banquet, wedding, and special event menus for a variety of group sizes and experiences Lead, train, and manage kitchen staff for both daily restaurant service and events Oversee food preparation, presentation, timing, and quality control across all culinary operations Coordinate and execute multiple services and events, sometimes concurrently Manage food costs, ordering, inventory, staffing, and waste Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations Collaborate with ownership and winery team on tastings, wine dinners, banquets, weddings, and special events Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment Qualifications Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef ready to step into a leadership role Experience in both restaurant and banquet/event culinary operations strongly preferred Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients Ability to lead teams and execute under pressure in a high-volume environment Knowledge of food and wine pairing preferred Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events Calm, professional leadership style with strong communication and attention to detail What We Offer Opportunity to shape the culinary identity of a growing vineyard destination Creative freedom within a collaborative, supportive environment Competitive pay (based on experience) A beautiful setting and a strong sense of community Opportunity to be part of a growing events and hospitality team How to Apply Please send your resume and a brief introduction outlining your culinary background and interest in Burntshirt Vineyards to:
