Dining Room Manager Job Description Location:
North Conway, New Hampshire Job Summary As Dining Room Manager at Stonehurst Manor, you will be responsible for leading front-of-house operations and ensuring a refined, warm, and consistent guest experience that reflects the Manor's historic charm and hospitality standards. Job Responsibilities Guest Experience & Service Excellence
  • Oversee all daily dining room operations to ensure prompt, polished, and gracious service.
  • Maintain a visible floor presence during service to monitor and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Ensure consistency in service and presentation across all shifts. Team Leadership & Training
  • Recruit, train, and mentor front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bussers.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment focused on guest-first service.
  • Conduct regular service briefings and ongoing training to maintain high standards.
  • Set clear expectations for performance, grooming, and guest interaction. Reservations & Guest Flow Management
  • Manage reservation systems and walk-in traffic to optimize guest flow and minimize wait times.
  • Coordinate floor plans and table assignments to ensure smooth service transitions.
  • Liaise with the kitchen and bar teams for timely pacing and special requests. Operational Oversight
  • Monitor dining room setup, cleanliness, and readiness before each service.
  • Ensure all service equipment and tools are stocked, clean, and in working order.
  • Assist with event setup and execution, including private dinners and special functions. Collaboration with Culinary & Bar Teams
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and F&B managers to ensure alignment on timing, specials, and service priorities.
  • Participate in menu tastings and provide feedback to improve the guest experience Financial Performance & Reporting
  • Support cost control efforts by monitoring labor, waste, and service efficiency.
  • Assist with scheduling to meet budget targets while ensuring coverage for busy periods.
  • Track and report guest feedback and service trends to inform operational improvements Standards & Compliance
  • Enforce compliance with health and safety codes, sanitation practices, and service protocols.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all menu offerings, wine list, and daily specials to support staff and guests Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend and implement improvements to service systems and dining room procedures.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and incorporate fresh ideas into service strategy.
