Associate, Growth Merchant Lead A leading company in the on-demand delivery and local commerce industry is seeking a Freelance Associate, Growth Merchant Lead to support expansion in emerging markets. This opportunity is ideal for a driven sales professional who enjoys face-to-face business development, fast-moving deal cycles, and building strong local merchant partnerships. This is a field-based sales role focused on acquiring new restaurant and merchant partnerships across underserved and high-opportunity markets. The position requires extensive travel throughout the assigned territory, including regular in-person meetings with business owners and occasional overnight travel. Candidates should live within 40 minutes of Lebanon, NH. About the Role In this position, you will identify prospective merchant partners, conduct in-person outreach, present partnership value, and negotiate agreements that contribute to regional growth. Success in this role comes from balancing consistent prospecting activity with strong relationship-building and a sharp ability to close new business efficiently. You will collaborate closely with regional sales leadership and use available market insights, sales tools, and performance data to prioritize outreach and improve results across your territory.
- Key Responsibilities
- Drive new merchant acquisition across assigned emerging markets
- Meet directly with restaurant and small business owners to present partnership opportunities
- Manage a high-volume sales pipeline and move opportunities through a fast transactional cycle
- Negotiate partnership terms and secure signed agreements
- Build and maintain strong local market knowledge to identify growth opportunities
- Partner with sales leadership to refine outreach strategy and territory priorities
- Represent the organization professionally throughout the region Preferred Qualifications
- 2.5+ years of sales experience, ideally in a closing or highly client-facing role
- Experience selling to small or midsize businesses preferred
- Background in restaurant, food service, beverage, hospitality, or related sectors is a plus
- Comfort with frequent travel and field-based prospecting
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently in dynamic markets
- Goal-oriented approach with a focus on building repeatable sales success Additional Details
