Job Description

Manager / Lead Barista Responsibilities As a Manager, you are expected to lead the team while also working as an active Barista during your scheduled shifts. This role requires both operational leadership and hands-on participation in daily café operations. Work as a Barista during scheduled shifts, including taking orders, preparing drinks, serving customers, and assisting the team as needed. Lead, support, and manage the team throughout each shift. Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times. Greet customers, assist with concerns, and create a welcoming atmosphere. Train and coach team members on customer service, product knowledge, and upselling techniques. Encourage upselling of drinks, food items, cold foam, whipped cream, desserts, and featured menu items. Conduct daily and weekly inventory counts and complete all inventory checklists. Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs before items run low. Keep all storage rooms, refrigerators, freezers, and back-of-house areas clean, organized, and properly stocked. Check product expiration dates and ensure all products are properly rotated using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures. Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed and documented throughout the day. Monitor sanitizer buckets and ensure they are maintained and changed as required. Ensure the café, kitchen, bathrooms, customer areas, outdoor areas, and storage spaces remain clean and inspection-ready at all times. Lead and participate in weekly Zoom meetings with staff. Communicate company updates, expectations, and operational changes to the team. Ensure all employees follow health department regulations, food safety standards, and inspection requirements. Monitor employee performance, attendance, punctuality, and professionalism. Create and manage Sling schedules, including shift coverage, availability, and schedule adjustments. Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed correctly. Address customer complaints and team concerns professionally and promptly. Maintain a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment. Report operational issues, staffing concerns, maintenance needs, and inventory shortages to ownership. Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, reliability, and strong work ethic. Take ownership of the overall cleanliness, organization, customer experience, and daily success of the location.
Position Expectation:
This is a working management position. Managers are expected to actively assist on the floor as Baristas while simultaneously overseeing operations, supporting the team, and ensuring the location operates smoothly and efficiently.
Pay:
$47,820.30 - $57,590.05 per year
