AM Job Summary :
High volume diner is seeking a Full Time team-oriented candidate for the General Manager position. Ideal candidate must be courteous and possess excellent leadership and customer service skills. Candidate must also be willing to work weekdays/nights, weekends and/or holidays.
Essential Functions:
Direct and oversee all daily restaurant operations. Lead, supervise, train, coach, and develop restaurant employees and management team members. Create and maintain employee schedules based on business needs, staffing levels, and labor-cost objectives. Ensure exceptional customer service and promptly address guest questions, complaints, and concerns. Monitor food preparation, presentation, quality, portion control, and consistency. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health department, and workplace safety standards. Manage inventory, food ordering, receiving, storage, and product rotation. Conduct regular inspections of the dining room, kitchen, restrooms, storage areas, and exterior premises to maintain cleanliness and safety. Ensure proper opening, closing, cash-handling, and operational procedures are followed. Operate and troubleshoot basic restaurant equipment and coordinate repairs and maintenance when necessary. Maintain effective communication with employees, management, vendors, and other business partners. Recruit, interview, hire, and retain qualified employees in accordance with company policies. Address employee performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace issues promptly and appropriately. Implement company policies, procedures, standards, and initiatives consistently. Maintain accurate operational records, reports, schedules, and other required documentation. Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, equipment failures, and other unexpected situations. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements:
3+ years of restaurant or food-service management experience preferred. Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant or diner environment. Excellent customer-service and communication skills. Working knowledge of food safety and applicable health department requirements. Ability to lead by example and be actively involved in the operation. Dependable, flexible, and willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
