General Manager Yamasaki Restaurant SK Hospitality Group High-End Japanese & Asian-Fusion Dining | Financial District, Manhattan Compensation $90,000 - $110,000 annually, based on experience SK Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced General Manager to join the opening leadership team for Yamasaki Restaurant , a high-end dining destination in Manhattan's Financial District. Yamasaki will feature two distinct concepts, including an upper-level Japanese and Asian-fusion fine dining restaurant. The restaurant will emphasize thoughtful hospitality, cultural appreciation, elevated service, strong beverage knowledge, and a polished guest experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a true hospitality professional and go-getter who wants to take leadership, help build a strong team, and play an important role in shaping the culture and standards of a brand-new restaurant. About the Role The General Manager will oversee daily restaurant operations, lead and train the front-of-house team, maintain exceptional service standards, and ensure a polished guest experience that reflects the quality and elegance of a high-end Japanese dining concept. We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent beverage knowledge, and the ability to manage all aspects of restaurant operations with confidence, professionalism, and attention to detail. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading, managing, and motivating the front-of-house team Overseeing daily lunch, dinner, night, and weekend service Maintaining elevated hospitality, service, cleanliness, and presentation standards Hiring, training, coaching, and developing staff Creating and managing schedules Managing ordering, inventory, and vendor communication Supporting and executing the beverage program, including sake, wine, spirits, cocktails, and alcohol service Ensuring smooth communication between front-of-house, bar, and kitchen teams Managing guest relations and resolving issues professionally Helping establish systems, standards, and procedures for a new restaurant opening Creating a positive, professional, and accountable team culture Taking ownership of the guest experience, team performance, and overall restaurant success Leading by example with a hands-on, go-getter mentality Requirements The ideal candidate must have: Previous General Manager or senior restaurant management experience Experience in high-end, fine dining, or upscale restaurant environments Strong knowledge of sake, alcohol, wine, and spirits Experience with staff training, scheduling, ordering, and inventory Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and a hands-on management style Ability to work lunch, nights, weekends, and holidays Full availability is required A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and go-getter mentality Ability to lead, build, and run a strong team in a new restaurant environment Japanese restaurant experience is a strong plus.
