$75,000-$85,000 annually Position Summary Alley Pond Golf Center (APGC) is seeking an experienced, organized, and hands-on Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support daily operations and the overall management of the facility. Working closely with the General Manager/COO and department leaders, the AGM will coordinate golf operations, guest services, food and beverage, events, staffing, and facility support. The ideal candidate is a strong team leader who delivers excellent guest experiences, maintains operational standards, and balances service quality with financial discipline. Key Responsibilities Operations & Facility Management Oversee daily operations and ensure consistent execution of company policies and service standards. Coordinate activities across golf operations, front desk, food and beverage, events, and maintenance. Conduct regular facility inspections to assess cleanliness, safety, presentation, and operational readiness. Coordinate with maintenance teams, technology providers, and external vendors to resolve facility and equipment issues. Support opening, closing, peak-period, weekend, and special-event operations as needed. Staff Leadership & Development Provide day-to-day direction and support to managers, supervisors, and frontline employees. Assist with scheduling, staffing levels, attendance, training, and performance management. Set clear expectations, reinforce operating procedures, and coach employees to improve service and productivity. Partner with the General Manager to address employee concerns and performance issues professionally and consistently. Promote a respectful, collaborative workplace with clear accountability. Guest Experience Maintain an active, visible presence throughout the facility. Monitor the guest experience across check-in, golf, dining, events, and departure. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. Identify opportunities to improve service, operational efficiency, and customer retention. Financial & Administration Management Support POS procedures, cash handling, reconciliation, discounts, credits, and transaction controls. Monitor labor utilization, operating expenses, inventory, waste, and other controllable costs. Review daily operating and revenue reports and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. Maintain accurate operational records, checklists, incident reports, and management documentation. Revenue & Events Support Support revenue-generating activities across golf, food and beverage, events, instruction, and retail. Assist with corporate outings, private events, tournaments, promotions, and community programs. Collaborate with marketing, events, and operations teams to increase facility utilization and guest engagement. Safety & Compliance Help maintain a safe environment for guests and employees. Reinforce company policies, operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Assist with incident response, documentation, and follow-up. Ensure operational issues are documented, assigned, tracked, and resolved. Qualifications At least 5 years of progressive management or supervisory experience in hospitality, golf, sports and entertainment, restaurants, hotels, recreation, events, or another high-volume, customer-facing environment. Experience supervising employees and coordinating operations across multiple departments. Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of POS systems, scheduling tools, operational reporting, and general business technology. Familiarity with budgeting, labor management, cash controls, inventory, and basic financial reporting preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will also be considered. Golf industry experience is a plus, but not required. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus, but not required. Work Environment & Schedule This is an on-site management role requiring an active presence throughout the facility, including indoor and outdoor areas. Schedule flexibility is required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, and peak business periods. Compensation & Benefits Base salary of $75,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience. Annual performance-based incentive opportunity, with additional incentives for exceptional business and operational results. Expected total annual cash compensation of approximately $80,000-$92,000+, depending on experience and performance. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. About Alley Pond Golf Center Alley Pond Golf Center is a golf, recreation, hospitality, and community destination in Douglaston, Queens. The facility combines technology-enabled golf experiences with food and beverage, golf instruction, events, youth programming, and community activities. The Assistant General Manager will gain broad exposure to APGC's operations, with opportunities to take on greater general management responsibility as the organization grows.
