Long-Term A warm, welcoming family in Port Washington is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Live-In Nanny / Family Assistant to become a long-term member of their household. The family has three children, ages 8, 6, and 3, and is looking for someone who is nurturing, energetic, flexible, and able to confidently manage both childcare and household support responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who naturally takes initiative, thrives in a busy family environment, and understands how to anticipate needs without constant direction. The family's schedule can be dynamic, so flexibility and adaptability are essential. Schedule & Availability This is a live-in position working Tuesday through Saturday , with Sunday as a guaranteed day off . The family enjoys dinners and social commitments on Saturday evenings, so the ideal candidate is comfortable with a schedule that extends later into the evening on Saturdays. Additional Monday hours can also be available for candidates interested. Position Overview This role requires the ability to seamlessly shift priorities throughout the day. When the children are home, the focus is on providing attentive childcare, preparing meals, assisting with routines, and creating a positive and engaging environment. When the children are at school, camp, activities, or otherwise occupied, the focus transitions to helping maintain an organized, efficient, and well-run household. Childcare Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing, and engaging care for all three children Assist with morning and evening routines Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children Encourage age-appropriate play, creativity, learning, and engagement Support daily schedules, activities, and transitions Assist with homework and school-related responsibilities as appropriate Assist with bedtime routines as needed Accompany children to activities, outings, and appointments Foster a safe, positive, and structured environment Travel with the family as needed Household & Family Assistant Responsibilities Manage all family laundry, including washing, folding, organizing, and putting away clothing and linens Ironing Change bed linens and make beds throughout the home Maintain organized bedrooms, playrooms, closets, and common areas Keep toys, supplies, and children's belongings organized and easily accessible Load and unload the dishwasher and maintain kitchen tidiness Assist with meal preparation for the children Monitor household inventory and help keep commonly used items organized Create and maintain systems that support an efficient household Anticipate household needs and proactively address them Assist in keeping the home running smoothly on a day-to-day basis Ideal Candidate Takes initiative and requires minimal supervision Highly organized and detail-oriented Able to multitask and manage competing priorities Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules Warm, patient, and engaging with children Strong communication skills Interested in building a long-term relationship with the family Valid driver's license required Comfortable driving children using the family vehicle Open to traveling with the family CPR certification preferred Familiarity with a kosher household is appreciated, but not required Benefits Two (2) weeks of paid vacation annually One week selected by the nanny with reasonable advance notice One week selected by the family based on family travel or scheduling needs Five (5) paid sick days annually Family Travel & Guaranteed Hours Should the family request that the nanny travel with them, all reasonable travel-related expenses will be covered by the family. Any guaranteed hours or compensation arrangements during periods when the family is traveling and childcare services are not required will be reviewed and discussed after the nanny's first six (6) months of employment.
