Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of a high-volume gastro pub. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, food, craft beverages, and creating exceptional guest experiences. The Restaurant Manager will lead the front-of-house team, support back-of-house operations, ensure financial performance, and maintain the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient and profitable service. Lead, coach, and motivate front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff. Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop team members. Create and manage employee schedules to meet business demands while controlling labor costs. Maintain exceptional guest service by addressing customer concerns promptly and professionally. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food service, menu quality, and seamless communication. Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs to achieve financial goals. Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relationships for beverages and restaurant supplies. Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety standards, liquor laws, and company policies. Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations. Assist with marketing initiatives, special events, seasonal promotions, and community engagement. Monitor cash handling procedures, daily sales reports, and end-of-day reconciliation. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining room, bar, and outdoor seating areas. Support a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and hospitality. Qualifications 3-5 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a gastro pub, upscale casual, or full-service restaurant. Strong knowledge of food, craft beer, wine, and cocktail service. Proven leadership, coaching, and team-building skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Experience with POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management. Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, and responsible alcohol service. ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (preferred). TIPS or equivalent alcohol service certification (preferred). Preferred Skills Experience managing restaurants with annual sales exceeding $2 million. Familiarity with local Long Island dining trends and guest expectations. Ability to analyze financial reports, control costs, and improve profitability. Strong conflict resolution and guest recovery skills. Passion for hospitality and delivering memorable dining experiences. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
