Job Description

Job Summary Longo's is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining a smooth workflow in a dynamic hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a keen eye for food safety and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents while managing a vibrant kitchen team. Duties Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and support personnel, to ensure efficient food production and service. Oversee menu planning, ensuring a diverse selection that meets guest expectations and dietary requirements. Manage food preparation processes to maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards across all dishes. Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with attention to timing, portion control, and guest satisfaction. Control inventory levels by monitoring stock, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective inventory management practices. Enforce food safety standards and hygiene regulations to ensure compliance with health department guidelines. Oversee kitchen shift management, including scheduling staff rotations and ensuring adequate coverage during busy periods. Requirements Proven experience in fine dining or restaurant management with a strong background in culinary arts. Supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment is essential. Knowledge of banquet operations, catering, and dietary department procedures is highly desirable. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members. Expertise in food production, menu planning, and food service management. Familiarity with inventory control systems and food handling safety protocols. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff and front-of-house teams.
