1888 Bites and Pints is seeking an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations, maintain our high standards for food quality and cleanliness, and foster a strong, collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate is a dependable leader who can manage day-to-day culinary execution, uphold strict food safety and sanitation protocols, control inventory, and successfully guide our back-of-house staff from onboarding to ongoing professional development. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development Lead by example through a strong work ethic, professionalism, and positive collaboration with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. Supervise daily kitchen operations, assign stations, coach employees, and maintain accountability. Conduct regular performance reviews, document coaching or disciplinary actions as needed, and assist ownership with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. Culinary Operations & Food Quality Master every kitchen station and execute opening and closing procedures seamlessly using company checklists. Prepare all menu items strictly according to established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards. Monitor prep schedules, daily production, and ticket times to ensure a smooth workflow between BOH and FOH. Food Safety & Sanitation Enforce strict adherence to labeling, dating, FIFO (First-In, First-Out), and temperature control procedures. Maintain an inspection-ready, clean, and organized workspace at all times. Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly deep-cleaning schedules. Inventory & Cost Control Maintain precise inventory levels, track par levels, and participate in weekly inventory counts. Prepare accurate food and supply orders for owner review and approval. Monitor waste, control food and labor costs, and maintain a daily waste log.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Proven experience in a commercial kitchen environment, with previous kitchen management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Certifications:
Must hold or be willing to obtain required certifications, including RAMP and ServSafe .
Skills:
Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and solve operational issues proactively.
Reliability:
Dependable attendance with the flexibility to cover shifts and handle staffing adjustments as needed.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
