Salary:
Starting at $21 / hour - depending on experience Job Summary Lead daily kitchen operations for our school cafeterias. Provides healthy high-quality meals for students and staff. Supervise and train kitchen employees to ensure food quality in an efficient manner. Will help create menus that are nutritious, student-friendly that are compliant with NSLP nutrition guidelines. Maintain food safety, sanitation, and inventory controls in alignment with state, local, and Woods regulations. Collaborate with school administrators and FNS management to support student well-being. Manage production records, vendor's orders, and kitchen budget. Fostering a welcoming and inclusive kitchen culture focused on teamwork and accountability. Inspires and leads the school food service team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to students and staff. Oversees all aspects of daily operations: scheduling, inventory, compliance, and food safety. Partners with FNS management, school staff to ensure meals support student health, learning, and well-being. Ensures compliance with state and federal child nutrition program guidelines (NSLP) Manages inventory, staffing, vendor relationships, and performance goals. Fosters a positive, student centered and inclusive kitchen. Performs other duties as assigned. Associates degree or equivalent with concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, or culinary arts, or 3-5 years' experience food service management (K-12 or intuitional preferred) ServSafe Mandatory-Local food safety certification Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications Must be able to communicate electronically through use of email and other similar computer platforms. Experience in K-12 Programs required. Working knowledge of cooking procedures and recipe adherence and scaling. Must be able to resolve problems effectively when problems arise. Ability to effectively communicate verbally, electronically, and written with Foodservice Director, Education Administrator, students, and support staff. Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills. Must have a valid driver license. Must be able to drive company vehicle to other sites. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, be agile, physically restrain, bend, squat, stretch, reach, push up and stand for several hours at a time. Work is primarily in the School Foodservice establishment. Work is "on- hands" during mealtimes. Office work is completed before or after mealtimes. Other duties are assigned.
