Job Description
Overview Fort Cherry Golf Club is seeking an experienced, dependable and hands-on General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the club. The General Manager will provide overall leadership for golf operations, the pro shop, food and beverage, outings and events, staffing, customer service and the financial performance of the club. This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who is comfortable being involved in daily operations, supporting employees, interacting with golfers and outing coordinators, and ensuring Fort Cherry continues to provide a welcoming, well-run golf experience. Experience Required Preferred Qualifications
- Prior management or leadership experience in golf, hospitality, recreation, food and beverage, events or a related customer-service business.
- Golf course or club-management experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead employees, manage multiple departments and handle a busy seasonal operation.
- Strong organizational, communication, customer-service and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with point-of-sale systems, tee-sheet/golf-management software, Microsoft Office and basic financial reporting.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule during the golf season, including some weekends, holidays and special events as needed.
- PGA membership or certification is welcome but is not required. Essential Responsibilities What You'll Do
- Provide overall leadership and oversight of daily club operations, with a strong on-site presence.
- Oversee pro shop and golf operations, including tee-sheet management, pace of play, customer service, cart operations and daily procedures.
- Lead, schedule and support full-time, part-time and seasonal employees; establish expectations and promote accountability and dependable service.
- Oversee golf outings, leagues, tournaments and special events, including planning, coordination and day-of execution.
- Oversee food and beverage operations and work with staff to maintain quality, cleanliness, inventory controls and appropriate service standards.
- Monitor revenues, expenses, purchasing, inventory and other operating results; identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Work with ownership on pricing, promotions, policies, staffing needs, capital needs and longer-term planning.
- Maintain strong relationships with members, daily-fee golfers, leagues, outing customers, vendors and community partners.
- Ensure club policies and applicable requirements related to food, alcohol, safety and golf operations are followed.
- Help market and promote Fort Cherry Golf Club, outings, events, leagues, merchandise and food-and-beverage offerings.
- Resolve customer and operational issues promptly, professionally and fairly. Benefits What We Offer
