General Manager Part-Time Contract | ~12 hrs/week
| $12,000/year | Work-from-home + select on-site dates avmsingers/contractor-opportunities The Assabet Valley Mastersingers (AVM) — a beloved choralanization serving the greater Northborough region for nearly five decades — is seeking a General Manager to help lead our day-to-day operations andmunity engagement.
This is a flexible, part-time contract role ideal for someone who isanized, people-oriented, and passionate about the arts. The GM is the Brand Ambassador of ouranization: the person who keeps volunteers motivated, logistics running, and our public face looking its best. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Facilitate concert and rehearsal venue contracts and oversee concert publicity, including press releases andmunity calendar listings
Assist with in-person ticket sales and financial reconciliation
Support fundraisingmittees, attendmunity events, and represent AVM at grantee ceremonies
Maintain membership, donor, and sponsor databases
Advise onanizational policies and procedures in partnership with the Operations Chair and Executive Board
Energize AVM's volunteer corps — recruiting, supporting, and coordinating the best efforts of a diverse group of singers, alumni, andmunity members
Serve as Front of House coordinator at three weekend concerts, two choir sings, and one Chambersingers concert each season, plus attend a minimum of one rehearsal per concert cycle
monthly to the Board Chair and Artistic Director on progress and priorities
Qualifications:
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You bring strong people skills and solidanizational instincts.
Specifically:
A natural relationship-builder who connects easily with volunteers, board members, venue contacts, and the broadermunity
A motivated self-starter who anticipates needs and follows through without being prompted
Strong written and verbalmunication — clear, warm, and professional
Solid time management, able to juggle multiple priorities across a varied weekly schedule
Experience with database management, basic financial tracking, and/or nonprofit operations a plus
Passion for choral music or the performing arts warmly weed — but not required
SCHEDULE & COMMITMENT
This is a part-time contract position averaging approximately 12 hours per week, though actual week-to-week and month-to-month hours vary with the concert calendar.
On-site presence is required for:
Three weekend concerts in MetroWest/Central Massachusetts
Two choir sings (August and December)
One Chambersingers' concert (April)
Minimum of one Monday evening rehearsal per concert cycle All other work may be performed remotely.
