Job Description

Job Summary The Longbranch, a family-owned restaurant in Pierre, SD, is seeking a full-time evening Kitchen Manager to join our growing team! Why The Longbranch?

  • Starting at $18/hour (DOE) Duties Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, to ensure high-quality standards.
Manage staff development to build a motivated and skilled team. Supervise food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across all kitchen activities. Control inventory levels through accurate ordering and stock management. Monitor food production processes to optimize efficiency while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation. Implement and uphold food safety standards, including proper sanitation practices and temperature controls. Collaborate with restaurant management to develop evening specials and control costs related to food production. Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service, resolving any issues promptly to enhance guest experience. Cut meat, and create menu items, many from scratch. Create evening specials that pair with the current menu
  • American food featuring steaks, burgers, and sandwiches.
Qualifications Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety protocols. Strong culinary skills and experience with meat cutting are required; the Longbranch is a scratch kitchen. Demonstrated ability in inventory control, budgeting, and food cost management. Previous experience managing a busy kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work atmosphere. Knowledge of food safety standards and certifications relevant to the food industry. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail. Why Pierre?
