ABOUT THIS ROLE

Duo Play Café is seeking an experienced operator to lead our day-to-day operations. You will manage our café and play team, own our scheduling and birthday party calendar, and oversee service across open play, memberships, parties, and community programming. You will help establish the systems and standards for the business and will work closely with the owner throughout the launch and beyond. This is a working management role — you will lead from the floor, behind the bar, in the party room, and alongside your team during service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead daily operations, including opening, closing, and floor management during service Build staff schedules, audit time records, and submit payroll Recruit, onboard, train, and coach the team Manage the birthday party and private event calendar from inquiry through follow-up Oversee vendor relationships, inventory, purchasing, and receiving Monitor budget, shrink, and cost of goods; report weekly on sales, labor, and bookings Maintain food safety, play equipment safety, and health department compliance

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 2-4

years of experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality 2+ years of supervisory experience, including scheduling and managing hourly staff High school diploma or equivalent Weekend availability Proficiency with point-of-sale systems (Square preferred) Ability to pass a background check Event or party planning experience preferred Spanish required Food and beverage industry experience preferred Experience opening a new location or establishing operational systems preferred

Compensation starts at $20.00/hr.
