ABOUT BERRY SPRINGS LODGE
Berry Springs Lodge is a boutique lodging property nestled in the natural beauty just outside Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We pride ourselves on delivering a warm, memorable guest experience in one of the Smokies' most beloved destinations. Our property is owner-operated with a strong emphasis on quality, personal service, and well-maintained facilities.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a hands-on, hospitality-minded Assistant Manager to live on-site and serve as the operational backbone of Berry Springs Lodge. This is an ideal role for someone who loves the Smokies, takes genuine pride in a well-run property, and thrives in a role where no two days are the same. On-site housing is included as part of the compensation package.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary point of contact for guests during check-in, check-out, and throughout their stay Oversee and coordinate housekeeping and maintenance to ensure all rooms and common areas meet our quality standards Respond promptly to guest needs, requests, and concerns — resolving issues with professionalism and care Manage day-to-day property operations in coordination with the ownership team Conduct routine property walkthroughs and identify maintenance needs before they become problems Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers as needed Assist with staff scheduling, communication, and accountability Support the ownership team with operational reporting, supply management, and process improvement Be available for on-call situations given the on-site nature of the role
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in hospitality, lodging, property management, or a closely related field Strong interpersonal skills — warm, professional, and guest-focused Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks Comfortable with basic maintenance oversight and vendor coordination Reliable, trustworthy, and comfortable with the responsibility of living on-site Proficient in basic computer use; experience with property management software a plus Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$26,000-$30,000 annually, commensurate with experience On-site housing provided (a $15,000+ annual value) — total package valued at $41,000+ Immersive role in a beautiful mountain community Collaborative working relationship with property owners and
General Manager Pay:
$35,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
