June 2026 - August 2026 (Exact dates TBD) RRS is seeking experienced Former DFAC Managers or Military Food Service Managers to support an upcoming military food service assignment. This role is ideal for candidates with prior Dining Facility (DFAC) or DoD food service leadership experience who understand high-volume operations, Army food service regulations, and structured kitchen environments. Responsibilities Oversee daily DFAC kitchen and food service operations under the direction of the Rapid Response Manager and Client Point of Contact Ensure all operations meet Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements and operational standards Supervise and lead kitchen and food service staff, including subcontractor personnel involved in food preparation, serving, sanitation, and cashier operations Coordinate 28-day menu planning in collaboration with the client and food service leadership Manage inventory, ordering, and accountability of subsistence and food supplies, including CLASS I operational rations Utilize STORES or AFMIS systems for requisition and ordering from prime vendors Ensure proper food receiving, storage, and handling procedures to maintain sanitation and prevent spoilage Maintain strict compliance with
HACCP, TB MED
530, and U.S. Food Code sanitation standards Ensure compliance with Army regulations including AR 30-22 and
DA PAM 30-32
Maintain equipment accountability, serviceability, and proper stockage levels Oversee sanitation and safety in kitchen areas, serving lines, dining areas, dishwashing areas, and storage facilities Assist with food preparation and service when needed to support operational demands Support field feeding operations when required Requirements At least seven (7) years of military food service experience in the grade of Staff Sergeant (or equivalent military service), or equivalent civilian experience in large-scale DoD food service operations in a supervisory role Current ServSafe Manager Certificate required Experience with DFAC operations, military feeding systems, or DoD food service contracts strongly preferred Familiarity with AFMIS or STORES systems is a plus Must be 18 years or older Must be able to pass a military background check Two valid forms of ID required (if using a standard ID, it must be a Travel ID) Ability to travel on short notice Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required Additional Information Temporary assignment supporting military operations Candidates must be dependable, flexible, and comfortable working in structured, high-volume environments
