Job Description
Overview The Assistant Program Manager - Aquatic Operations will assist with the overall operations of all Aquatic Programs and operations, including facility management, overseeing staff and facilities that meet state and local requirements. The position includes operation of City of Corpus Christi pools and splash pads. This position will ensure that each activity and program develops management integration, tracking, fiscal statement, goals and objectives. In addition, the position provides governance, management integration, tracking, fiscal monitoring, media and public relations, planning, community liaison for public and private partnership, staff supervision and training. Responsible for ongoing programming, continued development and implementation of new programs to meet community needs. Responsibilities
Assists with preparing recommendations regarding program budget, maintain accurate records by monitoring revenues, expenditures and reimbursements, analyzingand address cost recovery strategies
Ensures safety and maintenance of facilities by periodic pool inspections, maintain licenses and certifications as required, evaluate, recommend and oversee facility operations and repairs
Recruits and coordinates new employee orientation, hire and evaluate personnel, provide coaching and mentoring strategies, monitor training opportunities, handle disciplinary issues as needed
Oversee payroll productions and process and must have knowledge of City personnel policies and procedures
Provides excellent customer service by responding to and resolving difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints, responding to inquiries or requests for service from interested community groups/citizens
Negotiates and resolves sensitive and controversial issues
Makes policy decisions that affect division, ability to anticipate situations, provide innovative solutions and new program development
Analyzes and makes logical decisions based on experience and ability to deal with constant problem solving
Develops and monitor performance measures, the Business Plan and Measurable reports Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
Exempt - Full-Time - 40 hours a week
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
Two (2) years of experience Certifications, Licenses or other requirements Required
A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
Lifeguard Certification (Upon hire date) Required within Six (6) months of Hire
Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification
Lifeguard Instructor Certification Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:
