Spare Time Texas is a locally owned Texas-based entertainment company specializing in bowling, arcade, laser tag, dining, and events. The company first opened its doors in Temple, TX in 2013. The second center is preparing to open in Pflugerville, TX on December 1, 2015. We strive to provide outstanding facilities, products and service at a fair price for the communities we serve.Major Function :
We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Kitchen Manager to join our fun, fast growing and highly motivated team in our Pflugerville location. This position reports to the General Manager. Primary function is to ensure and supervise the delivery of high quality food and beverage products and services to guests within the entire bowling entertainment center. The ideal candidate will be capable of maintaining a positive work environment for staff while ensuring the highest levels of safety, sanitation and guest services are being provided. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading a team of 7-12 kitchen and snack bar employees Interview and hire kitchen and snack bar team members per business need Provide both positive and constructive feedback to ensure adherence to policies and procedures while also maintaining a high level of morale for all team members Develop weekly employment schedule for direct reports Train all staff in the proper production of food and beverage products Maintain inventory and order supplies to ensure all menu items can be prepared Proactively interact with guests and appropriately solve problems as they arise Act as "Manager on Duty" as needed Maintain all food and beverage equipment to manufacturer specifications Maintain and implement all recipes for banquet and restaurant menus Control cost of sales through implementation of operating procedures Develop positive business relationships with all food and beverage vendors Develop/implement food and beverage operating checklists and ensure all kitchen management forms are accurately completed and maintained Review and readily share feedback on all financial reports and tools Other duties as assigned by supervisors or managementRequired Certifications:
ServSafe Manager certification Food handler certificationRequired Skills:
Intermediate skill level in Excel, Word and Outlook Intermediate proficiency in math and organizational skills Excellent food production and presentation skills Outstanding kitchen sanitation knowledge Willingness and ability to work varied schedules including nights and weekends Experience Minimum one year of supervisory experience in a kitchen (fast casual dining preferred) 4+ years total experience in kitchen operations 2+ years of proven ability to successfully lead a team Display effective communication skills with customers, management, vendors and employees Physical Requirements Lift/move objects up to 50 pounds- estimate 10% Standing/walking
