Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee daily culinary operations within our dynamic food service environment. This leadership role is essential for maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring efficient food preparation, controlling inventory, and upholding food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in restaurant management, culinary expertise, and team leadership to foster a productive and positive work environment. Duties Supervise and coordinate all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality. Manage inventory control processes, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction to optimize food costs. Oversee the implementation of food safety standards in compliance with health regulations and company policies. Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to promote skill development and maintain high performance levels. Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, sales tracking, and cash handling procedures. Monitor shift operations to ensure timely service delivery in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews to foster team communication and professional growth. Assist with budgeting, profit-and-loss analysis, and cost control initiatives to maximize operational efficiency. Coordinate with front-of-house management on catering events, banquet services, or special promotions as needed. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols are consistently followed throughout the kitchen area. Requirements Proven experience managing kitchen operations in quick service or fast food restaurant settings; casual dining or fine dining experience is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety management practices. Previous supervising or team management experience within the food industry. Familiarity with inventory control, budgeting, and profit-and-loss analysis. Excellent communication skills for effective managerial oversight and staff training. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage shift operations efficiently. Culinary experience complemented by hospitality management skills is preferred. Basic math skills necessary for inventory calculations and financial reporting.
