Kitchen Manager - Whistle Britches (Southlake, TX)

Southlake, TX About Big Dill Hospitality Group Big-Dill Hospitality is a family-owned restaurant group that owns and operates Muchacho Tex-Mex, Whistle Britches, Even Coast, Casa Brasa, Kamila, Maroma and many more unique and fantastic dining concepts coming soon in the DFW area. Helmed by Chef Omar Flores, a two-time James Beard Semi-Finalist, Best Chef SW and Dallas Rising Star Chef, this is Chef Flores' newest passion project several years in the making. Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of kitchen operations, and a passion for maintaining high culinary and cleanliness standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, consistency, and timely service Lead, train, and manage BOH staff including line cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers, and expo Monitor food preparation methods and portion sizes to ensure compliance with company standards Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen in accordance with health and safety regulations Manage inventory and food cost, ordering supplies as needed while minimizing waste Develop prep lists, station charts, and ensure daily kitchen checklists are completed Collaborate with the General Manager and FOH leadership to coordinate service and implement new menu items Troubleshoot issues and resolve conflicts effectively and efficiently Ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary Qualifications 3+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen leadership role Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and team leadership abilities Working knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices Experience with inventory, ordering, and cost control Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed ServSafe Manager certification preferred
Physical Demands:
Ability to work in a standing position for 8-10 hours per day Ability to lift 60lbs (50lbs overhead) Stand for a long period of time. Be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull and grasp throughout the day. Hearing and communicating in person or over telephone. Big dill is an equal opportunity employer.
