Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist to Manage the meat department, including ordering, receiving, and stocking meat products
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of all meat products to maintain freshness and quality
- Oversee the meat cutting process, ensuring accurate portioning and presentation
- Train and supervise staff in meat preparation techniques and food safety procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their meat selection and answering any questions they may have
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat department, including proper sanitization of equipment and work areas
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure adequate stock levels
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or culinary setting
- Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques and knife skills
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Skills:
- Customer service: Ability to provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers, answering their questions and fulfilling their needs
- Food preparation: Proficiency in preparing various cuts of meat for cooking or display purposes
Restaurant:
Understanding of restaurant operations, including food handling, safety protocols, and kitchen organizationCulinary:
Knowledge of culinary techniques and an appreciation for high-quality food preparation- Knife skills: Proficiency in using different types of knives for precise meat cutting
- Meat cutting: Experience in accurately portioning and preparing different cuts of meat for sale or cooking purposes
Kitchen:
Familiarity with kitchen equipment, sanitation practices, and food production processes- Food safety: Understanding of food safety regulations and the ability to implement proper procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Food handling: Knowledge of proper handling techniques to ensure food quality and prevent contamination during storage, preparation, and serving
- Food production: Experience in managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of quality meat products.
