POSITION SUMMARY

The general manager is accountable and responsible for all aspects of their restaurant including, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, team member experience, staff performance, marketing, purchasing, customer satisfaction and experience, and financial performance. The general manager reports to the regional manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Live and uphold Jersey Mike's values and culture Build and maintain a positive, fun environment focused on building a loyal team and happy customers Recruit, interview, and hire team members that represent our core values and culture Properly onboard, train, and develop team members Delegate tasks to team to run great shifts, provide support and coaching as needed Hold team accountable for their performance; provide coaching and counseling as needed Provide effective and open communication on goals during team meetings; recognize positive contributions Provide ongoing, daily feedback to team and deliver timely and thorough performance appraisals and effective development plans based on defined goals and objectives for the store Educate team on and enforce all appropriate personnel policies, labor laws, and security and safety procedures Ensure team provides fast, friendly, and accurate customer service Measure customer and employee satisfaction and execute plan to improve both satisfaction and loyalty Ensure product quality, store cleanliness, maintenance, and security standards are met Increase comparable sales and deliver budgeted sales each period Control cost of goods, variances, and inventories within the store Create employee schedules that maintain financial responsibility and ensure an exceptional customer experience Ensure proper cash handling and deposit procedures are followed Complete weekly inventory Complete paper, beverage, and food orders 1-3 times per week to ensure proper levels of products are available and ready for each shift Review monthly profit and loss statements identifying a plan to correct any areas needed for improvement

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION

Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers Possess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and culture Problem solver with the ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume, clean, customer-focused restaurant A relationship builder and comfortable handling conflict Displays self-confidence and humility simultaneously Cares about people and show empathy and kindness Ability to use a computer and a variety of restaurant software systems Ability to understand financial reports Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize Minimum of 3 years' experience as a restaurant general manager and/or a restaurant, hospitality, or business degree

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS/OTHER

Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 45-55 hours a week Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs Will frequently stand, walk, reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, and soy Must be at least 21 years of age

Pay:

$27.00 - $34.42 per hour Expected hours: 45.0 - 50.0 per week
