About Bocce e Baci Bocce e Baci is a brand new gathering place for good food, live music, and community events in downtown Appleton. An open-air courtyard with a bar and cafe, a pizza shack, local vendor kitchens, bocce ball in the summer and curling in the winter. A place for young professionals, students, families and everyone in-between to eat, drink, meet, play, and socialize. Located one block off College Ave at 208 S. State St. The Role We are looking for a Bar and Cafe Manager to run our beverage operation out of a 20-foot converted shipping container. During the day it is a cafe serving authentic Italian espresso drinks and craft refreshments. In the evening it shifts into a full bar with cocktails, wine, and beer. You will be hands-on behind the bar and machine, manage a small staff, help shape the menu, and be part of the events and community side of the venue. What You Will Do Cafe Operations (Daytime) Prepare and serve authentic Italian cafe drinks: espresso, cappuccino, latte, macchiato, and more Develop and maintain the cafe menu Keep espresso equipment clean, dialed in, and running well Set the tone for a welcoming morning and afternoon environment Bar Operations (Evenings) Run the bar program: cocktails, wine, beer, and craft refreshments Help develop and update the drinks menu seasonally Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with Wisconsin liquor licensing Keep service moving smoothly during events and busy nights Team and Operations Hire, train, and schedule bar and cafe staff Support with inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships for all beverages Keep the container bar clean, organized, and stocked at all times Work closely with the pizza team and on-site staff Events and Community Show up for events and be someone guests recognize: bocce leagues, live music, trivia nights, yoga mornings, and more Help keep things running well when the courtyard gets busy Adjust the beverage program as the seasons change What We Are Looking For 21 or older Reliable transportation Comfortable on your feet and working outdoors TIPS certified or willing to get certified before opening Bar, cafe, or hospitality experience is a plus but we will train the right person Comfortable behind an espresso machine or willing to learn Experience managing or working with a small team Familiarity with beverage inventory and ordering Experience in an events-driven or outdoor venue is a bonus Someone who genuinely likes people and takes pride in their work Perks Competitive pay based on experience Bonus opportunities Health care stipend for full-time employees Employee discount on meals and drinks Potential to take on more responsibility with the broader venue operations for those looking for growth opportunities.
