Full-Time 1917 on Lake Wissota, Lake Wissota's premier upscale casual restaurant and bar, is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead our team. This is a unique opportunity to be the leader of an exciting dining destination while ensuring top-tier hospitality, operational excellence, and team development.Qualifications:
Proven experience in restaurant management, preferably in an upscale casual setting. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Hands-on approach with a focus on guest experience and operational excellence. Ability to manage budgets, financials, and cost controls effectively. Experience with training and team development.Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Planning
- Steward of hospitality and customer satisfaction and enjoyment
- Leadership and mentorship in training of all employees
- All reports and projects are completed on time.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of cash handling and office procedures.
- Demonstrates computer literacy and ability to operate POS and BOH systems.
- Effectively uses time management to attain goals.
- Ensures all fundamental procedures are in place and followed daily.
- Plans for staff changes in seasonal volume. Products & Services
- Ensures prompt and excellent service for all guests. All 1917's service points are executed.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of all food and liquor products & trains staff on the same.
- Works with KM and FOH manager to ensure sanitation and food safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Ensures compliance with government and company regulations and requirements.
- Executes property security procedures ensuring restaurant is secure from fire, theft, pests, robbery, and other dangers.
- Oversees a thorough line check and opening systems daily. Pm line check and closing routine/systems.
- Ensures dining and bar area is clean at all times with a system in place to maintain it.
- Ensures all equipment in dining and bar areas working properly and communicates to the proper people to maintain it when necessary.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of all vendors and the products or services they represent.
- Works with KM/FOH manager to maintain adequate inventory to prevent shortages, without excess inventory on hand (correct par levels).
- Places orders in a timely manner, according to fundamental procedures.
- Completes inventories and updates systems accordingly.
- Responsible for ensuring menus are clean and accurate.
- Ensures liquor, wine and beer list pricing is accurate and updated in the POS.
- Ensures ongoing training of all products.
- Ensures accuracy of all AP and AR and enters into QuickBooks Team Development & Leadership
- Executes and/or facilitates training for each position and all training is conducted according to specifications with certified trainers.
- Holds crew and management team accountable by monitoring performance relative to expectations provides feedback and rewards.
- Leads effective pre shift meetings each day communicating restaurant initiatives, specials, etc.
- Ensures crew uniforms and appearance meet 1917's standards.
- Ensures staffing meets the restaurant manpower requirements.
- All restaurant crewmembers receive a written and in person evaluation at least once every six months.
- All required paperwork and orientation is complete before a new crew member works their first shift. Sales & Guest Experience
- Ensures sales plan (including training workshops) is in effect and sales goals are met.
- Fulfills all company quarterly/yearly initiatives.
- Coordinates and ensures scheduling and execution of all special events and private parties.
- Visit guest tables 100% during each shift. Demonstrates the "NORM factor" with all guests. Culture & Leadership
