Food Service Administration Responsibilities:

Coordinate and direct daily operations in assigned areas. Under supervision of the Nutrition Services Assistant/Associate Director, ensure timely service that meets standards. Supervise, coordinate, and participate in activities of nutrition aides, sales assistants, and kitchen personnel. Build partnerships with other departments. Lead and train service staff in patient care and retail cafes. Enforce quality standards. Requisition food and food-related products. Manage sanitation plan where applicable and assist with policy/procedure development. Act as a frontline supervisor, supporting operations and optimizing labor efficiency. Integrate functions within areas and across the department.

Minimum Education Required:

Per Classified Civil Service specifications or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

Training and Experience:

600 hours of training in the operation of kitchen equipment (or 6 months of experience). 600 hours of training in food preparation (or 6 months of experience). 6 courses in supervision (or 6 months of experience). 6 courses in food management (or 6 months of experience). 1 course in budgeting (or 1 month of experience). 1 course in bookkeeping (or 1 month of experience). Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

1-3 years of management experience.
