As a Banquet Captain, your primary responsibility is to supervise and coordinate the activities of Banquet associates during events. You'll oversee the set-up, food service, and breakdown of all events while maintaining effective communication with guests to meet their needs and address any changes. Your role is vital in ensuring the seamless execution of events and creating memorable experiences for all attendees.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Coordination:
Supervise Banquet associates during events, ensuring seamless set-up, food service, and breakdown. Collaboration with
Management:
Work with the Banquet Manager to determine serving arrangements, staffing needs, and required equipment.
Guest Communication:
Maintain open communication with guests and meeting planners to address needs and changes efficiently.
Food Service Coordination:
Collaborate with the Banquet Chef for smooth kitchen-to-table transitions and accurate guest counts.
Staff Management:
Assign workstations and communicate function side work duties to servers.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect table settings and buffet arrangements for cleanliness and proper placement.
Post-Event Responsibilities:
Ensure function rooms are cleaned and equipment is stored properly after events.
Training and Development:
Conduct training for Banquet staff and develop backup personnel for the Banquet Captain role.
Supervision:
Directly supervise up to 30 associates in the Banquet department.
Alcohol Service Compliance:
Ensure adherence to alcohol service regulations and report gratuities received.
