Job Summary Gelato 101 Encinitas is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shift Supervisor to lead daily operations in our vibrant and friendly cafe environment. In this role, you will oversee team performance, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain smooth food and beverage operations. Your leadership will inspire staff, uphold food safety standards, and drive overall success during your shift. Core Responsibilities Floor & Shift Leadership:

Open and close the cafe, assign station roles, control service flow during peak hours, and maintain a calm and friendly environment.

Team Supervision & Coaching:

Guide and train baristas, monitor team performance, delegate tasks, and provide real-time feedback.

Customer Service & Recovery:

Greet guests, model service standards, handle custom orders, and

Operations & Quality Control:

Monitor food and beverage recipe consistency, conduct quality checks, and enforce health, safety, and sanitation compliance

Qualifications and Requirements Experience:

1+ year of retail/coffee/restaurant experience. Prior supervisory experience is often preferred.

Certifications:

Current Food handler card

Skills:

Strong communication, basic math and computer skills, multitasking under pressure.

Schedule:

Flexible availability. Weekend availability is a MUST.

Compensation:

Hourly wage starting at$19/hr plus tip share.

Pay:

From $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 40.0 per week
