Job Description:
As the shift Lead at Coffee Commissary Glendale, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the barista team, ensuring that all beverages are prepared to perfection, and maintaining a welcoming environment for both customers and staff. This role is ideal for someone with a deep knowledge of specialty coffee, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor the barista team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, ensuring each drink meets Coffee Commissary's quality standards. Maintain a deep understanding of coffee beans, brewing methods, and equipment to ensure the highest quality in every cup. Train new baristas and provide ongoing coaching to improve skills and knowledge across the team. Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure the café runs smoothly. Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism and a focus on enhancing the customer experience. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and cleaned according to company standards. Assist in creating and maintaining an inviting atmosphere in the café, including the setup and presentation of the coffee bar. Collaborate with the management team on menu development, promotions, and other initiatives to drive customer satisfaction and sales. Oversee the opening and closing procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a barista, with a strong understanding of specialty coffee. Previous leadership experience in a café or coffee shop is preferred. Passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. A positive attitude and a willingness to continuously learn and grow.
