Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Dietary Manager to oversee the dietary operations within a healthcare or assisted living setting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in food service management, clinical nutrition, and team leadership. As a Certified Dietary Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health regulations, managing food safety protocols, and developing care plans that support residents' nutritional needs. Your expertise will contribute to creating a safe, nutritious, and welcoming environment for all residents and staff. Responsibilities Lead and manage food service teams, supervising daily operations to ensure efficient and high-quality meal preparation. Develop and implement menus that meet nutritional standards, accommodate special dietary needs, and adhere to health regulation policies. Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans focused on nutrition and wellness. Oversee food production processes, ensuring food safety management practices are strictly followed in compliance with health codes. Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation to maintain financial sustainability of the dietary department. Supervise the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems for documenting patient nutrition information and care plans. Ensure staff training on food safety management, health coaching techniques, and regulatory compliance to maintain high standards of service. Monitor tube feeding procedures, diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition, and acute care requirements to support residents' health outcomes. Qualifications Proven experience in food service management within assisted living or healthcare environments, with a strong background in dietary department operations. Demonstrated knowledge of health regulation policies, food safety management, and food service health code compliance. Experience with patient assessment, clinical nutrition, and developing individualized care plans for diverse populations. Leadership skills with previous supervisory or team management experience in food production settings. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to nutrition care. Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and acute care needs; ability to evaluate diagnostic information effectively. Strong organizational skills in budgeting, managing food service teams, and supervising food safety protocols. Excellent communication skills for training staff, coordinating with healthcare teams, and providing health coaching to residents.
