This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing all front and back of house operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining brand standards, and collaborating closely with the hotel management team. The ideal candidate is a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes ownership of their department, and leads by example. Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Leadership Oversee all Food & Beverage operations including the restaurant, bar, banquet/event service, and in-room dining as applicable. Supervise and lead front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) staff during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Maintain a visible, active floor presence during service periods to monitor quality, pace, and guest satisfaction. Ensure all food and beverage offerings are prepared and presented in accordance with brand standards and health/safety regulations. Open and close the F&B department according to established procedures, including cash handling, POS reconciliation, and end-of-day reporting. Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to management as needed. Scheduling & Staffing Create and manage weekly staff schedules for FOH and BOH teams, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts, events, and peak periods. Monitor attendance, address call-outs, and arrange coverage as necessary. Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new F&B team members. Conduct performance coaching, provide ongoing feedback, and document disciplinary actions in accordance with hotel policies. Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that promotes accountability and professional growth. Ordering & Inventory Place and manage orders for food, beverage, and supplies with approved vendors, ensuring accuracy and cost efficiency. Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock counts to minimize waste and prevent shortages. Receive and verify deliveries, checking for accuracy, quality, and proper storage of all incoming products. Maintain par levels and assist in developing strategies to reduce food and beverage costs while upholding quality standards. Track and reconcile invoices, identifying discrepancies and communicating with vendors or management as needed. Hotel Coordination & Events Collaborate with the hotel management team on event planning, banquet execution, and F&B support for meetings, group bookings, and special occasions. Communicate daily operational updates, occupancy forecasts, and staffing needs to relevant hotel departments. Partner with the Front Desk, Sales, and Housekeeping teams to ensure seamless delivery of F&B services across the property. Assist in developing seasonal menus, promotions, and special offerings in coordination with hotel management. Participate in regular management meetings and contribute to hotel-wide operational planning. Compliance & Safety Ensure all team members adhere to food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations (TIPS/ServSafe compliance). Maintain cleanliness and organization of all F&B areas, including dining room, bar, service stations, and storage areas. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities, reporting maintenance needs to Engineering or management. Uphold all Marriott brand standards and Courtyard property-specific guidelines. Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of experience in a food and beverage supervisory or lead role. Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations. Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Open schedule with full availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be 21 years of age or older (for alcohol service oversight). Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). TIPS Certification or equivalent responsible alcohol service training (or ability to obtain upon hire). Preferred Previous hotel or resort F&B experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with Marriott/Courtyard brand standards and systems. Experience with hotel POS systems (Toast) ServSafe Manager Certification. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field Preferred.
Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate:
