POSITION SUMMARY:
The Food Service Director oversees all food service operations at Snow Mountain Ranch - YMCA of the Rockies. They ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and county health and safety regulations, maintain budgets, and ensure proper staffing. This role also collaborates with the Camp Chief Ouray Executive Director during the camp season to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee all food service outlets including: Commons Dining Hall, Buckboard Grill, Skinny Ski Café, Summer Camp Kitchen, banquets, catering, and food truck. Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and coach a team of ten (10) year-round and up to fifty (50) seasonal Food Service (FS) staff. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations. Plan meals and deliveries to optimize staff, facilities, and other resources to meet guest needs. Establish and enforce quality control systems to ensure nutritious and appealing meals. Develop and maintain the department budget for food production, food service-related equipment, and staffing levels. Assist in development of the annual capital budget. Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for staff, volunteers, guests, vendors, and partners. Work collaboratively with other departments for departmental needs. Serve as an active contributor at department head meetings and support association initiatives. Possess a valid, USA state-issued driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles. Possess stamina to work in the work environment described.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, Dietetics, Hotel Management, or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in a high-volume food service environment. Operational knowledge of a wide range of food service equipment. ServSafe or HACCP certification. Ability to lift forty (40) pounds to a height of four (4) feet.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to move between food prep areas, storage rooms, and offices. Must be able to move to different food service outlets to monitor operations, attend meetings, and support staff as needed. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, bend, reach, lift, and carry items. Must be able to work in varying temperatures, including hot kitchen environments, refrigeration areas, and occasional outdoor movement between facilities. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with frequent interaction with staff, guests, and vendors. Must be able to work in loud and hectic environments. Some evening, weekend, and holiday work is required based on operational needs.
