As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Kitchen Supervisor to support our Chef and Sous Chef in leading daily kitchen operations and maintaining our high standards. Position Overview The Kitchen Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, efficiently, and in full compliance with health and safety standards. This position is responsible for supporting kitchen leadership, supervising staff, and maintaining consistency in execution—without being responsible for recipe creation or menu development. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring smooth operations Act as a leader on the line, setting the tone for urgency, teamwork, and professionalism Ensure all food is prepared and plated according to Tavern 242 standards Enforce proper food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations at all times Assist in training, coaching, and holding kitchen staff accountable Monitor prep levels, line readiness, and overall kitchen organization Step into a management role when needed to support the team and business demands Communicate effectively with front-of-house and kitchen leadership What This Role Is Not This position does not create recipes or develop menu items This role supports execution, consistency, and team leadership—not culinary direction Qualifications Previous kitchen leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards ServSafe Manager Certification Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive Strong communication and problem-solving skills Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Why Join Tavern 242?
