Job Description

Team Lead Ben & Jerrys
CT/RI/NJ - 3.9
South Windsor, CT Job Details Part-time $20 - $24 an hour 22 hours ago Benefits Leadership training provided Opportunities for advancement Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Team Lead Company Overview Ben & Jerry's is known for scooping up inventive flavors and creating a fun, values-driven experience for every guest. Our shops are where great ice cream, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere all come together. We are building teams of people who care about service, enjoy working with others, and are ready to grow their leadership skills in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. The Opportunity As a Team Lead, you will run the shift, lead the scoop squad, and make sure every guest leaves happier than when they arrived. This is a hands-on leadership role where you guide the team, solve problems on the fly, and keep the shop operating smoothly from open to close. This role is a strong next step if you are ready to move beyond a crew role into real leadership responsibility. You will gain experience in shift management, coaching, and store operations in a supportive, fun setting with clear opportunities to grow. What You'll Do Lead your shift from open to close as the on-duty decision-maker, keeping the shop running smoothly and on time. Guide, motivate, and support team members through busy rushes while keeping service friendly, accurate, and efficient. Handle cash, deposits, and daily operational tasks accurately, following store procedures and standards. Deliver standout guest service, address concerns in the moment, and turn issues into positive experiences. Run pre-shift huddles, communicate the plan for the day, and keep everyone aligned on priorities and goals. Train and coach new and existing team members so they understand standards and feel confident on shift. Maintain shop standards in cleanliness, safety, and product quality, especially when store leadership is not present. Jump in wherever needed—scooping, cleaning, restocking—to keep the team and guests taken care of. What Success Looks Like Within your first few months, you consistently run smooth, on-time shifts with minimal escalation needed from store leadership. Your teammates know what to expect each shift, feel supported, and look to you for clear direction and problem-solving. Guest feedback and in-shop interactions reflect friendly, fast, and attentive service, even during peak rush periods. Cash handling, deposits, and daily operational checklists on your shifts are completed accurately, reliably, and on schedule. What We're Looking For Experience in food service or retail is helpful but not required if you bring strong people skills and leadership potential. Clear, friendly communication skills and the ability to keep the team organized and calm during busy times. Reliability your team can count on, including showing up on time and following through on responsibilities and commitments. Interest in growing your leadership skills, taking ownership of each shift, and contributing to a positive, fun shop culture.
