Kitchen Coordinator

Position Summary:

Girls Inc. of Sarasota County is looking for a caring Kitchen Coordinator to help prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks to girls in our after-school program (elementary-middle school). This is a weekday role that is perfect for someone who enjoys working with kids, likes being on their feet, and wants consistent daytime hours.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, approximately 9:30 am-6:30 pm (no late nights or weekends)

Predictable hours:

Free after-school childcare:

Eligible employees receive free after-school care for their own children (ages 5 and up) during their scheduled shifts, subject to program guidelines. Essential Duties Preparing and assembling daily snacks and meals for girls in our program. Wash, cut, and portion fruits, veggies, and other items to be served at snack time. Set up beverages, serving tables, warmers, and carts before meal service. Receive weekly food deliveries; check items against packing lists and help organize inventory. Serve meals and snacks, keeping accurate tallies of how many girls are served. Package leftover meals and snacks for girls to take home at the end of the day. Keep refrigerators, counters, equipment, and the kitchen work area clean, organized, and sanitized. Wash dishes and utensils; wipe down counters, stove, and ovens; ensure equipment is turned off. Follow all food safety and cleanliness procedures, including disinfecting touch points and sinks. Required Skills and Qualifications At least 18 years old. Have reliable transportation Valid driver's license Comfortable working around and serving children in a busy after-school environment. Able to lift and move at least 30 pounds (e.g., cases of milk, boxes of food). Reliable, on-time, and able to work Monday-Friday between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. Willing to undergo a criminal background check. "Nice to have" Skills and Qualifications Previous experience in a kitchen, cafeteria, school, camp, or food service role. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a small team. Enjoys being around kids and supporting a positive, inclusive environment. Self-motivated, able to stay on task with minimal supervision. Organized, with good time management to stay on schedule for lunch and snack service.
