Food Plant Team Lead Starting Pay:
$20.00 to $22.00 per hour standard + bonuses.
Schedule:
Full-time Monday•Friday with occasional weekends.

The Role:
The Food Plant Team Lead will contribute to all phases of the food storage, preparation, manufacturing, and packaging process. This includes operation/sanitation/maintenance of Kitchen and Bakery production and warehouse equipment. Leads are expected to assist in production/preparation planning and making decisions to produce the highest quality goods. It is the responsibility of the Lead to adhere to a safe work environment for themselves and their fellow co-workers. This position reports to the Food Plant Production Supervisor and is expected to cover the basic duties of the Supervisor when they are not available.
Job Responsibilities:
Performing work activities with attention to the highest standards of personnel safety along with food safety and quality processes and compliance while keeping a focus on process improvement Ensuring the facility meets health and safety requirements. Recognizing and correcting safety or quality problems. Overseeing the production/preparation process and team members to meet orders and deadlines. Assigning and rotating job assignments throughout the production/preparation process. Providing a hands-on approach to the production, labeling, prepping, or packing processes. Optimizing the efficiency of the production/preparation process. Training and supervising new employees. Monitoring the quality of the goods produced. Collaborating with other departments to ensure successful production/preparation/packing of goods. Documenting various checks and information completely and accurately both on hard copied documents and in computer systems. Ensuring the production team has all necessary resources (materials, tools, people, etc.) for a successful production day. Assisting, overseeing, and training for major equipment (Examples include Computer systems, pallet jacks or forklifts, Flow Wrappers, Depositors, Metal Detectors, and Labelers). Attending meetings and training specific to the title holds a key role as a member of the ERP team. Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED. Previous experience working in a food production factory is preferred. The ability to become Forklift certified is preferred. Must read, write, and speak fluent English. Bilingual a plus. Understanding of food packaging equipment is preferred. Strong ability to identify and analyze problems and implement solutions. Able to use Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Able to stand for 2-3 hours at a time. Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a constant 40-degree environment. Physical dexterity. Available for shift work. Will be required to remove Piercings, Jewelry, etc. in compliance with USDA food safety protocols.
Working Conditions:
This role requires a significant amount of movement to meet production rates. An individual in this role will be working with various types of food. They will also operate production or warehouse equipment upon request. The position will require general physical movements such as frequently walking, standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching. Environmental conditions include cold, wet, allergen, noise, and fumes / chemical / odor exposure from raw materials and sanitation chemicals.
