Job Description
93 Octane Brewery is seeking an experienced and motivated hospitality professional to join our team in a hybrid role as a Part-Time Floor Manager / Bartender / Server . This position offers a combination of management shifts and regular bartender/server shifts. Some shifts will be scheduled solely as the Floor Manager, responsible for leading restaurant operations, while other shifts will be scheduled as a bartender or server, with the expectation of acting as a floor lead and supporting the team when needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both leadership and hands-on guest service. During scheduled Floor Manager shifts, you will oversee all front-of-house operations while supporting the overall success of the restaurant. Responsibilities include leading the team through service, conducting pre-shift meetings, maintaining service standards, coaching and developing employees, resolving guest concerns, ensuring cleanliness throughout the restaurant, completing opening and closing manager duties, verifying side work, communicating with the kitchen, and maintaining a strong presence on the floor. You will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling labor costs by managing staffing levels for both the front and back of house, making staffing adjustments based on business volume, and working closely with the kitchen leadership to ensure labor goals are met without compromising the guest experience. During scheduled Bartender or Server shifts, your primary responsibility will be delivering exceptional hospitality while providing knowledgeable food and beverage service. You will greet guests, take food and beverage orders, prepare cocktails, pour beer to company standards, serve food promptly, maintain a clean and organized workspace, process payments accurately, and create memorable guest experiences. While working these shifts, you will also be expected to act as a leader on the floor by assisting teammates, answering questions, helping maintain service flow, mentoring newer employees, and stepping into a leadership role whenever necessary. Whether scheduled as the Floor Manager or as a bartender or server, you are expected to lead by example, maintain professionalism, communicate effectively, and support every member of the team. Running food, bussing and resetting tables, helping hosts, assisting support staff, stocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness are responsibilities shared by the entire team. The ideal candidate has previous bartending and serving experience, with restaurant leadership or shift lead experience strongly preferred. Candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills, be confident leading a team in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong knowledge of beer, cocktails, wine, menu offerings, allergens, and responsible alcohol service. The ability to make sound operational decisions, manage labor effectively, and provide outstanding guest service is essential. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. Illinois BASSET and Food Handler certifications are required or must be obtained prior to employment.
