Responsibilities:
Lead:
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, pantry organization, ordering, picking up groceries and food supplies, receiving, storage, and maintaining accurate records.
Care:
Prepare and serve nutritious meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen, equipment, and eating areas.
Support:
Follow YMCA, State of Indiana, and applicable accrediting agency standards while communicating effectively with staff and reporting safety concerns as needed.
Develop:
Support the growth and development of the ELC food service program while promoting the YMCA mission and core values.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent is required. 1-3 years of related experience preferred. Understanding of CACFP rules and regulations. Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills. Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm. Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency. Proficient in computer usage and possess the ability to grow with computer technology. An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively. Successfully complete within 60 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/O2 Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen training, Child Abuse Prevention training, and all other required training as specified by your supervisor.
