Security Shift Lead, Ford Energy Glendale, KY, United States (On-site) Be the First to Apply Job Description Ford Energy is a newly formed, wholly-owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company dedicated to accelerating U.S. energy independence. Leveraging Ford's century of manufacturing excellence and world-class battery energy storage systems (BESS) technology, Ford Energy designs, manufactures, and services grid-scale and commercial DC battery energy storage systems (BESS). Responsibilities What you'll do... Supervise security operations for Ford Energy, including staffing requirements, access control, CCTV monitoring, investigations, and emergency support. Supervise a team of direct and matrix reports. Oversee day-to-day security operations, including contract security personnel. Enforce the Service Level Agreement with the provider, including identifying and escalating performance issues. Enforce the security manual, bulletins, and protocols to ensure compliance. Assist with risk assessments of sites to determine if the operational model is adequate for site integrity. Respond to security incidents, including medical, behavioral, trespassing, accidents, suspicious activity, thefts, etc. Escalate appropriately to the Site Security Manager and/or Regional Security Manager. Assist with special projects and security initiatives, including GAO audits, daily plant walks, etc. Develop monthly security awareness communications to be provided to employees. Identify and escalate physical security gaps through proactive security initiatives. May perform the role of Incident Commander for emergencies. Enhance emergency response capabilities by utilizing incident response tools and through the deployment of emergency response equipment for the company or local municipalities. Collaborate with People Matters, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and Safety representatives as necessary to discuss and resolve workplace issues. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal skill teams to ensure unified alignment with all security-related matters. Collaborate with appropriate internal Ford skill teams and external work partners to plan for and provide security coverage for special events. Track and compile team metrics; using data to drive decision-making and security strategy. Act as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies. Assist in security for VIP visits. Protect company classified information with confidentiality. Qualifications You'll have... Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field. Minimum 6 years' experience in law enforcement or military. 4 years' experience leading and developing teams. Highly motivated, hands-on, self-starter with ability to think creatively and operate in a dynamic, ambiguous environment. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills (soft skills). Ability to multitask, strong problem-solving, and conflict management skills. Outstanding interpersonal, team building, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to:
Establish priorities under changing conditions. Exhibit calm, rational behavior under stressful conditions. Administer duties and responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail. Show initiative and leadership. Available to work 24x7, 365 days a year. Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills; ability to navigate department technology platforms. This is an armed role. Candidate must possess a Concealed Pistol License (CPL/LEOSA) or obtain one within 30 days, AND demonstrate firearm proficiency as a condition of hire. Even better, you may have... 8 years' experience in law enforcement or military. Seven (7) years supervisory experience. CPR/AED certification. Knowledge of Global Security and site security operations. Possess a working knowledge of emergency response levels. Experience in using data to drive strategy Deliver results according to the Ford OS Behaviors. This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
