Job Description

Reports To Field Supervisor Supervision Exercised Oversees Quality Control Inspectors Position summary Responsible for coordinating, training, and supervising Quality Control Inspector(s) in the sorting, inspecting, testing, and rework of materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products in client and company facilities. Assure company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved throughout all inspection procedures by knowing and adhering to the identified standards of safety and quality. Accurately complete daily service activity paperwork using the following mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The Quality Control Team Leader works under the direct supervision of the Field Supervisor and/or Operations Manager and relies on oral and written instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. work environment/conditions Ninety-five percent (95%) of time is spent in a manufacturing environment in client facilities with moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions such as goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high. Work schedules are based upon the needs of the business and may vary on a weekly basis. A minimum or maximum number of hours cannot be guaranteed each week. Occasional overtime may be required. Ninety-five percent (95%) local travel to client facilities is required. physical/mental requirements Requires walking, talking, hearing, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, carrying, turning, lifting (up to 35 pounds waist high), reading and writing English, color vision, and dexterity. Continuous mental and visual attention required. Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges, and testing equipment. Good basic mathematical aptitude required, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing single and multi-digit numbers. Work requires some physical strain such as lifting and prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and viewing products and materials. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, sometimes involved written and oral instructions. Essential Functions Serves as on-site customer liason in the absence of, and/or at the request of, the Field Supervisor and/or Operations Manager. Interacts with Customer Representative(s) and Customer's Personnel in a courteous and tactful manner. Interacts with Pro Tech Personnel in a courteous and tactful manner. Coordinates service activity processes with customer representative and Pro Tech personnel. Obtains customer, job, and process information necessary to initiate service activity. Prepares all necessary activity paperwork to perform inspection/rework service: to include Work Instructions, Activity Summary and Activity Detail Sheets. Leads Quality Control Inspector(s) by providing training, support, direction, and assistance during assigned Service Activities. Trains Quality Control Inspector(s) to each assigned certification process. Ensures all necessary Training Verifications are completed for the certification process. Supervises Quality Control Inspector(s) in the sorting, inspecting, testing, and rework of materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products in client and company facilities. Assures company, and customer, standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved throughout all inspection procedures by knowing and adhering to the identified standards of safety and quality.
