The Peer Leadership Contributor for The Shift serves as a community-builder and peer-resource specialist. This role is designed for students committed to fostering a culture of radical self-preservation and communal support among men of color at RCC. This is a 4-session intensive focused on leadership development, community care, and campus climate improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Community Dialogue:
Actively facilitate and participate in peer-led dialogues regarding the unique experiences of men of color in higher education to support campus belonging.
Resource Navigation:
Engage in peer-to-peer resource sharing, acting as a "bridge to care" by connecting cohort members to campus and community wellness supports.
Campus Climate Feedback:
Provide qualitative insights and feedback on the student experience to assist the Wellness Department in improving retention and support services.
Leadership Development:
Attend and contribute to four (4) monthly intensive leadership modules focused on community-building and professional resilience.
Safety Protocol:
Maintain strict peer-support boundaries; this role does not include clinical diagnosis, treatment, or independent crisis intervention.
Requirements:
Current enrollment at Roxbury Community College in good academic standing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to community building and peer support. Preferred Qualifications (optional): Interest in Human Services, Social Work, or Community Health. Previous experience in student leadership or campus organizations.

$236.00 (One-time gross payment for completion of the 4-session intensive).
