ABOUT THIS POSITION
As a Catering Manager/Events Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Catering Department in all duties including training new associates, overseeing event set-ups, entering and updating orders in Catertrax, updating the kitchen boards daily with upcoming events and directing any temporary personnel in addition to their everyday assignments. You will ensure proper service to clients during events, including attending planning meetings, proper set-up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise all catering events as the face of Genuine Foods on the ground to ensure they go off smoothly and to customer satisfaction. Involvement in all catering event operations including logistics, quality improvement and control, sanitation and food safety, and all facility related activities. Collaborate with the Executive Chef on crafting menus for events. Train all catering staff in service standards, menu presentation, and providing customer service the Genuine way. Control food costs and labor costs for every event. Communicate across various levels including management, clients and customers, outside vendors, and associates. Maintain client relationships. Ensure that any problems are resolved quickly and efficiently and communicated upwards as needed. Assist with all food service related activities as needed. Cover any positions as needed. All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 years of food service experience, including 1 year of supervisory experience. Previous catering experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, educational institutions, healthcare, military and/or other food service operations required. Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation and food safety, and presentation Have a proven track record and knowledge of growing a business, along with solid business and financial acumen, including ability to control food/labor costs. Show expert client relationship, influencing, presentation, listening, and communications (written and verbal) skills. Champions the inclusion mindset, and is proactive, positive, professional, flexible, and resilient Demonstrates initiative, ownership, multitasking, prioritization, and organization skills Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and other computer skills.
