Shift Leader

Job Summary:

The Shift Manager will help oversee daily operations during their shift, ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children and their families. You will be the lead barista during your shift, and your role will be pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the high standards of our café and play areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

Oversee your fellow team members behind the bar as well in the playscape. Ensure that you are contributing to a safe, positive, and cohesive work environment.

Beverage and Food Preparation :

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and alcoholic beverages, including espresso-based drinks, lattes, cappuccinos, teas, beer, and wine. Prepare and serve light meal options such as pastries, charcuterie boards, and other snacks.

Playscape Monitoring:

In the absence of an associate on shift, be able to oversee the playscape and ensure a safe, fun environment for the children; interact with the children, provide them with a variety of toys and activities, and intervene if there are any disputes.

Order Accuracy :

Ensure that all orders are prepared accurately and promptly, adhering to customer preferences and dietary restrictions.

Payment Processing :

Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, providing correct change and processing payments efficiently.

Equipment Maintenance :

Operate and maintain coffee machines and other equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and reporting any issues promptly.

Inventory Management :

Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, and assist with restocking as necessary.

Health and Safety Compliance :

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and sanitation practices

Customer Experience:

Provide exceptional service by ensuring every guest has a positive and memorable experience. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.

Menu Management:

Collaborate with the operations manager to ensure menu items meet quality standards and are in line with customer preferences.

Event Space Coordination:

Coordinate with the operations manager to ensure that events at the cafe run smoothly; set up food and beverage, help prepare activities, and oversee the event from start to finish.

Safety & Compliance:

Maintain a safe environment for staff and customers, especially in areas designated for children's play.

Job Type:

Part-time Pay:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
