Job Description

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Travel Shift Supervisor positions for a Manufacturing company in Livonia, MI. This is a Temp-to-Hire job. !
Duties for this position include:
Supervise, schedule, coordinate, and oversee daily production operations to meet production goals and customer requirements Lead production employees and team leaders while promoting a safe, productive, and positive work environment Monitor production schedules, machine performance, quality standards, inventory levels, and delivery requirements Track and report production metrics, including scrap, productivity, and inventory accuracy Serve as the first-response leader for workplace safety incidents, accidents, and emergency situations Ensure compliance with all hazardous material handling procedures, safety regulations, and company policies Coach, mentor, and develop team leaders and production employees to improve performance and accountability Enforce all facility rules, production procedures, and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives Compensation (USD): $30.00/hour
Per Diem Schedule:
2nd Shift Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Successful candidates must meet the following requirements: Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment Strong leadership, communication, and employee coaching skills Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and quality control Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and hazardous material requirements Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Proficiency with basic computer systems and production reporting Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Knowledge and experience with precision high-speedvision-based machining and automated sort equipment. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints. Experience with IATF 16949 and automotive Tier 2 environment. Experience in LEAN manufacturing initiatives. Experience in establishing and following safety guidelines. Broad knowledge of machining practices and manufacturing processes. Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team facilitation, experience utilizing structured problem-solving methods and solid conflict management ability. Experience optimizing processes and achieving ongoing cost reductions. Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment and with Plex or other manufacturing ERP system. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and planning skills. Must exercise continuous leadership to focus plant efforts on priorities. Must deal with constantly shifting priorities.
