POSITION SUMMARY
The Kitchen Coordinator/Classroom Support plays an essential role in supporting the efficient daily operations of St. Joseph Child Care Center by ensuring that food service, kitchen organization, sanitation, and related responsibilities are carried out effectively and in accordance with established health and safety standards. This role is responsible for assisting with the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals/snacks for children in accordance with the Center's menu, food-service procedures, and applicable health and safety requirements. This role also serves as an Assistant Teacher, supporting the licensed -based needs of the classroom when necessary. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in food preparation, food service, a commercial kitchen, school, child care center, or similar environment is preferred. Knowledge of or willingness to learn proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures. Food-handler training or certification is preferred and may be required based on applicable requirements. Ability to follow established menus, recipes, food-service procedures, and dietary or allergy-related instructions. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as a member of a team. Demonstrated reliability, dependability, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with supervisors and coworkers. Must meet all applicable employment, background screening, training, and licensing requirements for the position.
PERFORMANCE DUTIES
Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and snacks according to the Center's approved menu and established procedures. Follow proper food handling, sanitation, hygiene, and food-safety practices always. Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize food-preparation areas, countertops, sinks, tables, appliances, and other kitchen surfaces. Ensure food is stored, labeled, and handled safely and appropriately. Monitor food temperatures and follow established procedures for safe food preparation and service. Be attentive to children's dietary restrictions, food allergies, and special meal requirements. Assist with receiving, organizing, rotating, and storing food and kitchen supplies. Monitor kitchen inventory and communicate with management when food or supplies need to be replenished. Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary kitchen, pantry, storage, and food-service areas. Dispose of trash and recycling appropriately and maintain cleanliness in designated waste areas. Follow all applicable Center, health, safety, sanitation, and child care licensing policies and procedures. Assist with other food-service or Center-related duties as assigned based on operational needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull food, supplies, cookware, and kitchen equipment within safe limits. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform routine food-preparation, cleaning, and sanitation tasks. Must have sufficient manual dexterity and functional senses to safely use kitchen equipment and perform assigned duties.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in a kitchen and food-service environment. Regular exposure to heat, steam, cleaning and sanitizing products, food-service equipment, and typical conditions associated with food preparation and cleaning. May be exposed to infectious or communicable diseases inherent to a child care facility.

Duties may be adjusted based on the operational needs of the Center and applicable licensing or regulatory requirements
Pay:
From $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
