Shift:
This is 2nd shift role that starts between 1:30pm-3:00pm – 10:00pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday including weekends depending on business need.•
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is to direct job assignments and support to the Precooked line workers and operation in the department. Train in all new line workers and operators. This position is responsible for assisting the shift supervisor in the managing of the Packaging Department. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to perform all jobs in the area; oven operation, mixing, line work, doboy, robot, and forklift. Knowledge of product standards. Monitor product and standards and make changes to operation to ensure product is being produced with the highest possible quality. Supervise and advise all employees in the completion of any task. Disassembly/Assembly of all equipment. Perform CIP's and sanitation of equipment as required. Detect and correct GMP/Safety violations. Oversee Mix person and time lines. Minor Maintenance work. Act upon employee issues. May fill in for Area Supervisor, as needed. Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. #firstinfood
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). The successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and pass the forklift certification.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend in English simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization in English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
