Job Description
Restaurant Shift Lead - Pizza & Gelato Restaurant Starting at $24/hour We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Shift Lead to help lead our team at a fast-casual pizza and gelato restaurant. Our Shift Leads work alongside the team while overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent guest service, maintaining food quality, and keeping the restaurant running smoothly. You'll play an important role in both front and back of house operations. When the General Manager is not present, you'll be responsible for leading the shift, supporting team members, and making sure standards are consistently met. Expectations Direct daily operations during your shift Assign stations and responsibilities Support and coach team members Train new employees and reinforce company standards Lead by example during busy periods Communicate effectively with management and staff Deliver Great Guest Experiences Ensure every guest receives friendly and efficient service Support guests using self-order kiosks Handle guest concerns and service recovery when needed Maintain a clean, welcoming dining room Monitor service speed and guest satisfaction Support Front & Back of House Assist with pizza production and food preparation Ensure recipes and portion standards are followed Monitor food quality and presentation Help manage ticket flow and order accuracy Support food running and guest-facing operations when needed Maintain Operational Standards Complete opening and closing procedures Perform cash handling and drawer counts Oversee alcohol service and compliance Complete daily checklists and shift reports Enforce food safety and sanitation standards Ensure the restaurant is clean, stocked, and ready for service Qualifications Restaurant experience required Previous shift lead, trainer, supervisor, key holder, or leadership experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to stay calm and productive during busy periods Reliable transportation and excellent attendance Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Ability to lead a small team while remaining actively involved in service Preferred Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain) Previous experience in fast-casual, pizza, or counter-service restaurants Previous experience serving or overseeing alcohol service We're Looking For Someone Who Takes ownership of their shift Leads by example Enjoys teaching and coaching others Has strong attention to detail Is dependable and accountable Can solve problems without constant direction Understands that great hospitality and great food go hand in hand Schedule Restaurant hours: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Full-time preferred Day, evening, and weekend availability required Opening and closing shifts available Compensation & Benefits Starting at $24/hour Opportunities for advancement Employee meals and discounts Paid training Work with a small, supportive team Be part of a growing restaurant from the beginning To Apply Please respond with: Your name Phone number Resume (if available) Brief summary of your restaurant experience Leadership experience Availability We're looking for someone who takes pride in running a great shift, developing team members, and creating an outstanding guest experience.
